Baffles outsiders

I have no idea what is "Baffles" here ...

Outsiders mean that the religion was considered as "Outsider" ?

To baffle someone is to confound or confuse them - to "leave them confused."

"Outsiders" would be people who are not members of the religion, or people who are unfamiliar with it.

Hi there Avangi, thanks for explaning me those, I guess that I'll stay with the verb "Confused" in it's passive form since I didn't manage to understand the first one
