Bad Wording?

So I was working on math (in english), and I received a problem worded like: What else can this diagram help you construct when given a line segment such as AB? Share your ideas with the class.

Even though it says when given a line segment, by saying such as AB, is it wanting us to use AB as the given segment in the scenario?

With no more information, it is very difficult to know how one is supposed to answer this question, or what the reason for the phrase "such as" may be. The "what else" wording suggests that other content precedes this. I think it is necessary to see this other content in order to judge the question.
