Bad throat pain.. Severe throat pain

Hi

A patient tells the doctor - I'm having a bad throat pain and fever.

Is this the most natural way of saying it or should it be -

I'm suffering from...

or severe throat pain

or severe throat ache??

Please help.

Thank you

I think non-native speakers should keep things as simple as possible when talking to a doctor. eg My throat hurts. There are many words that relate to various kinds of pain.
