BAD DAY

Dear Teachers,

1. 'Cause you had a bad day, you're taking one down. You sing a sad song just to turn it around.

- "one" here means "one person" or "one what"?

2. Well you need a blue sky holiday, and the point is that they laugh at what you say.

- "blue sky holiday" here means "good holiday", right?

Thanks a bunch to Teachers,

Stevenukd.

An idiom has crossed my mind: To take somebody (=one) down a peg or two; that is, to tell sy some home truths, or to scold them. blue sky holiday is used metaphorically; it is not a fixed expression, IMO.
