I am writing a job report and I want to say that sometimes we are swamped with work. We have a lot to do because there are congresses and exhibitions taking place. Can I use 'we have a backlog of work' or 'we are backlogged' instead?
Thank you.
"we have a backlog of work" is fine. To me, "backlogged" does not formally seem like a proper word, but "we are backlogged" makes sense and people use it informally.
