Back and Forth

He sucks the lollipop and then pulls away from it, back and forth, over and over again.

I'm guessing that "back and forth" is wrong there, since he is not going between two different things but merely repeating the same action over and over again. Nor is he engaging in a "back and forth" motion like swinging on a swing. Am I right on that?

Thanks.

Hi, The sentence reads a bit awkwardly to me, but it's not hard to get the general meaning. I wouldn't call it wrong. Such phrases are a bit loose and vague.
