baby names and meanings

Hi,

I am just curious why some names' meanings are adjectives instead of nouns. For example, "Dina" means "judged" given from a website. And "Mitchell" means "Who is like God"? What do they mean? Does it mean the name could be judged or a question in its meaning?

thanks,

The names do not mean anything, They were originally derived from words in other languages that had meanings, but after all this time, the meanings are forgotten, and they are just meaningless labels. If they say that "Dina" means "judged", they mean that long ago, the word dina in some other language meant "judged".
