babble

Hi!

I'm wondering if the word 'babble' fits to describe the following action:

A person who's in frightening condition, foresee very bad thing is going to happen to himself, while without any positive solution, he constantly speaking nonsense, useless, unintelliegence words out loud for keeping himself from silent condition(for calm reason, perhaps). some people would speak nonstop during danger sitsuation. Does 'babbling' fits to decribe this sortta action? Or what should I call it? A formal name would be preferred, thanks in advacne! -Terr

Babbling does work. I believe the origin of the word comes from a term for incomprehensible.

Vorpar, really? I think babbling works okay.

She sat there, babbling on and on, until we ignored the fact that she was even speaking at all.
