Is the same setup of the analytical engin of babbage used in todays Micro computers.

In a very general sense one could say there are similarities between Babbage's engine and todays micro computer. Babbage's engine had five clearly defined 'sections' 1)Punchcard input. 2) Storage (moving wheels and gears dictated by the punchcard) 3) Mixer ( predetermined gear movements to do the calculation) 4) Results storage ( final position of the gears) 5) Output (Read your answer on the gears or wheels).
