Babbage's engine had five clearly defined 'sections' 1)Punchcard input. 2) Storage (moving wheels and gears dictated by the punchcard) 3) Mixer ( predetermined gear movements to do the calculation) 4) Results storage ( final position of the gears) 5) Output (Read your answer on the gears or wheels).
