B. Dylan's lyrics

Ref.: 'Blowing In The Wind'

I'd like to explore the meaning of the verse

'before it's washed to the sea' by Bob Dylan.

We know it refers to 'a mountain', but what

does 'washed to the sea' means? I mean, literally.

'Washing' should have the same meaning of the verb

in 'washing your hands' or 'making sth wet in order

to clean it'. 'To the sea' is pretty unclear because

of the preposition 'to' that I'm not really able

to interpret. Can you help me? Once again: I'm

interested in the literal meaning of the verse.

Thank you.

If something is 'washed to the sea' it is carried by some natural source of water (possibly earthquake, avalanche, mudslide) to the sea. Its use hear has nothing to do with cleaning .
