Axe/Axterick

Has anyone heard the usage "axterick" for asterisk? I suspect it derives from the bastardization of "ask" that floats around the streets and malls of America of late. I HATE this corruption. I'd love to see how users of this abomination spell the word. Any thoughts?

Hello Kenny (a full-time professional magazine editor), and welcome to English Forums. Yes, I am familiar with that pronunciation. It is regarded as substandard, but language changes, so there is no point in getting riled up about it; just use what you think best.
