Away for two weeks

Suppose that your colleague, who is a teacher, needs to take a two week holiday. He would like you to cover for him during his holiday.

On the first day you meet his students, you tell them, "Mr. Brown is away for two weeks. ..."

Is it grammatically correct to say "Someone is away for two weeks." ?
