Average/half

Hi

Quite an unsuaul question I think:

Does the word "average" gives you a feeling of "half"? (After all, "average" means finding the median point of something).

Regards.

Ok I'll let the cat out of the bag then. Here's the joke I have in mind: a zombie cut in half that says: "I'm just your average joe". Bad joke I know, but I just want to know if the humorous meaning can be grasped with this use of the "average" adjective.
Thanks.

Sorry. Not by me. I had no idea what "cut in half" and "average Joe" had to do with each other. In English "half" and "average" don't form the kind of association that you need for a joke.
