Available for sale

Deas native speakers, please read this sentence:

With a range of coverage of 5.4% / 3.59 m readers, GEO is the biggest monthly magazine available for sale.

As I understand "available for sale" already means that something is "freely available for sale". Is there a need to indicate "freely" separately.

As for freely available for sale is nonsense(in my opinion it is incorrect). When you say that something is freely available you mean that it is avaliable for free so that no payment is needed. The same time when you say for sale you mean that it isn't free.

Thank you for the link, I have seen it. But I suppose it is not the only meaning of "available for sale". But if it really rather used as a commercial term, what yould you suggest for something what can be bought as opposed to subscribed.
