Avail

[This is the 3rd consecutive year I did not avail your wish..]

If a friend 'A' forgets to wish a best friend 'B" continously for 3 years. Can the friend 'B' write in the above manner.. [for eg.. birthday/wedd anni wish]

I don't think so. In this sense, B's wish is some thing he hopes for, not a greeting from A. If A avails B's wish, than A grants B's wish, or somehow makes it possible for B's wish to come true.

B wishes to become a millionaire. A avails B's wish by giving him a million dollars.

It's not a common usage. The verb is not exactly a synonym for "to

Ok thanks for the detailed explanation Avangi..

But then if 'B' has to write to 'A'

can you suggest something better than this

' This is the 3rd consecutive year that you did not wish me'/ This is the 3rd con...year I did not get your wish'

I need it something as the wish is considered very much of a value.. and 'B" is deprived from it'

Okay. I'm a little confused as to whether you're the wishor or the wishee.
I am conplaining because you have neglected to wish me happy birthday for three consecutive years?

For the third year in a row you have failed to remember me on my birthday!
(We use the expression "to remember me with a card, or birthday wish.)
