Autopsy and Post-mortem

Hello everyone,

A. Could you please tell me if it's okay to use the words "autopsy" and "post-mortem" without indefinite articles?

1. They performed autopsy.

2. They carried out post-mortem.

B. Can we leave the hyphen betweeen "post" and "mortem" out and write the word as "postmortem"?

C. Do we have other verbs to collocate with the words "post-mortem" and "autopsy" except "conduct, carry out, and perform"?

Regards,

JA

A) No, it's not OK.

But you can use post-mortem as an adverb, eg the man's head was crushed post-mortem.

B) Not according to my dictionary, but I wouldn't object.
