Autocracy vs. dictatorship

Catherine believed in enlightened autocracy. Supporting her belief and the practice of it was the keen attention she paid to public opinion.

Can I replace autocracy with dictatorship? I feel autocracy is neutral, and dictatorship is pejorative

Thanks!

I wouldn't say that "autocracy" is exactly a "neutral" word, but it probably fits better with the positive word "enlightened" than "dictatorship" does.
