Auspicious words

How can I make the paragraph sound natural?

After the reunion dinner, my parents and grandma will give red packets to me and my sister, but we should say auspicious words as we get the monetary gifts. I usually use these money to buy what I like, such as novels, stationery or some firecrackers to set off with my neighbors.
