'Attribute' has too many meanings. How can you use it in a sentence?

I don't know the exact meaning of this word.
Can someone please tell me what's the correct using of the word? Thanks alot

That's what I'm having a problem with. I don't know the exact meaning of it and therefore couldn't make a sentence out of it..

Ascribe means to blame. Impute means to blame also...

In the sentence above, 'I' am saying that 'I don't deserve the credit you give me, praise my coach instead for teaching me.'

Pretty much, 'attribute' as a verb is giving credit for something to someone else.
