Attractive girl

Could you help me with the meaning of the sentence:
She was an attractive girl in a plain, wholesome way.

Does this mean she was attractive in simple and natural way?

I know I won't become one of its dieters, that's for sure. But I guess one would get so, if they tried really hard:)
This is actually from that other book 'Blindsighted'. Haha Imagine that sentence next to a recipe , saying eating this soybean will make you beautiful in a plain and wholesome way...

I sure would need some kind of diet before summer begins...
But you wouldn't advise me to choose that one? (assuming I muster the courage to start one...

Hi Antonia,

A minot hair-splitting point;

"different than others " should be "different FROM others."

Hi guys. It's always good to talk about food stuff, I love it! Keep it going. And dear Abbie, I know that you British do not consider the American dialect as a standard one, and I'm myself trying to follow up the British English rules as far as I can, but I'd like to add this comment. "Differ than" is acceptable in American English along with "different from".
Cheers,
