attention to? or attention for?

Hello!

I have 2 questions.

..................................................................................

When a person says "No" and really means it, he or she is doing far more than saying a word of two letters. The entire organism gathers itself together into a condition of rejection. There is, usually in minute but sometimes in observable degree, a physical withdrawal or readiness for withdrawal. The whole neuromuscular system, in short, sets itself on guard against acceptance. When, on the contrary, a person says "Yes," none of the withdrawal activities take place. The organism is in a forward-looking, accepting, open attitude. Hence the more "Yeses" we can induce, at the very start, the more likely we are to succeed in capturing the attention for our ultimate proposal.

.....................................................................................

1.What does "gathers itself together" mean? ----> my guess: withdraw oneself ; make one's body smaller or contracted

2. attention for? ---- I think attention to(towards) would be right. Is 'attention for' usual in your usage? or better than 'to'?

Top answer

My try: I haven't heard of "attention towards" before. Both attention to and for can be used. I don't nkow is there any difference between them but the only thing I know is that "attention to" is commonly used.
