Attempts have been made on her life

Hi

Would you say that the following sentences are essentially synonymous--since the attempts can only be murderous?

Attempts have been made on her life.

Murderous attempts have been made on her life.

Thanks,

Tom

I'd say the latter is a pleonasm. The first is right; there is no need to add redundant information.
