#1 The study is an eye opener and attempts to acquaint us with the limitations of the second green revolution.
A. attempts at acquainting
B Attempts to acquaint (my answer)
What is correct here?
As I know we use "attempt to + verb" when "attempt is used as a verb.
Example : He attempts to win the game.
When "attempt" used as noun we use "at".
Example: The couple made an unsuccessful attempt at a compromise. (But I find this sentence also : Two factories were closed in an attempt to cut costs.)
So I get confused now.
Thank you
