Attempt

Should I say 'She made little or no attempt to know him.' or 'She made few or no attempt to know him.'

'Attempt' is a countable noun but I found that 'made little attempt' sounds more correct.

Either A-S's or your first will work, Anon:

She made few if any attempts....
She made little or no attempt....

The first is countable and the 2nd uncountable, and I believe the 2nd is idiomatic.
