If we have our hair or nails so long, the germs will attach (us/to us/on us).
I'd like to know what the correct usage is, attach us, attach to us or attach on us.

My problem in helping you with this sentence is that I don't believe long hair and nails (if they are kept clean) have anything to do with germs, so I can't find an appropriate verb to express the "relationship.". How about this:

Dirty hair, skin or nails can harbor germs that can make us sick.

or

Some people think that long hair and nails attract germs.
