At/in an advanced stage

Hi
"AT/IN an advanced stage" (I mean it as a technological development, not as the progress of a disease, for ex.)"
Which is better? By doing a google search, I noticed they give a similar amount of results. That puzzles me.
Thank you.

Interventizio I noticed they give a similar amount of results. That puzzles me. It shouldn't: it just indicates that both are used.

The context would be something like: "They are researching a new cloud-based storage technology, which is AT/IN a good stage of development."

'Good stage' does not make any sense. Both prepositions seem to work, though.

Oh yes I meant "at an advanced stage", as in the original question.
