At your own risk vs at your own peril

Could someone tell me which one to say?

1 I like to drive fast at my own peril.

2 I like to drive fast at the risk of dying.

Thanks

You may say either. Words not only have meaning, connotations and denotations, they also carry with them beats like you would find in music. Sometimes the choice is based on the flow of the surrounding sentences, and the impression you are trying to leave with your audience.
