Which are correct, and what is the difference between what and which?

The singular 'case' suggests I expect there to be only one such case.

The plural 'cases' suggests I expect there to be more than one.

'What' and 'which' can often be interchanged, but note this.

'Which' suggests all the cases may already have been identified, and I am asking you to choose.

'What' does not suggest this, so your amswer would have to contain more information.

What is the diffence between how long and for long how? There is usually no difference intended. Please explain further.

How long did you wait?

How long have you been waiting?

How long have you been in England?

How long are you going to be in the bathroom?

2nd question,

=From when has he been missing? (Is it a correct sentence?)

I wouldn't say these are wrong, but they sound awkward to me, particularly the second one.

I'd suggest

'How long has he been missing?'.

'When did people realize he was missing?'

3rd question,

There was an acticle about you? (Is it correct) Yes. I'd say this is more commonly said.

I saw a documentary on penguins.

I wrote a magazine article on modern art.

Possibly 'on' stresses a bit more that this is the main topic. I 'm not sure .

How long/How many days do you want to hire this car?

You need 'for'.

eg How long/How many days do you want to hire this car for?

For how long/how many days do you want to hire this car?

How long/How many days would you like to apply for your visa?

For how long/how many days would you like to apply for your visa?

These questions sound like you are asking how many days are spent applying.

You need a question that shows you are asking about how many days the visa should be valid for. That's why I made the sugestion in my last post.

and I heard people say, 'How many years' contract did you sign with the company?' Is it ok to say this way? Yes, although to my mind it is a little colloquial.
