At the same pace

How would you phrase the first sentence naturally in this context?

My girlfriend and I aren’t moving forward at the same pace. She wants to move in with me and I’m not there yet.

I guess it would also depend on the purpose and audience. It's natural for informal situations but a teacher might have a problem with there. I'm not ready yet is probably more common.
