With the relatively high birth rates, many countries, especially undeveloped and developing ones, now have the population dominated by young people. While such phenomenon has possessed some demerits, I believe it is more likely to bring benefits.
Young people are often known as the culprit of some serious problems that a society has to confront. More specifically, the youth, in many cases, is the period when people are still callow and inexperienced, so they not only fail to succeed but also cause damages to other people. The lack of experience may prevent youngsters from effective performance at work, leading to squandering on valuable resources of their companies such as time and energy. Furthermore, a part of young people are the ones who could easily become indulged in social evils such as gambling. These bad habits are generally the implication of tortured perception which derives from the detrimental influences of their parents or fellows during childhood or adolescence.
Nevertheless, the advantages of young adults surpassing older ones are bound to overshadow its foregoing disadvantages. One potential impact may be the increase in the number of people in labouring age, hence a large workforce contributing to the economic growth. This trend sometimes is followed by the fierce competitiveness in the labour market and gives the nation chances to exploit competent labourers in almost all employment sectors as a result. In addition, because the young usually have a better immune system which results in a healthier body than the old, they might require less medicinal treatment than the latter. Consequently, money could be saved for other aspects such as education refinement and environment conservation.
For the aforementioned discussions, it is my view that a nation can gain many benefits when the majority of its population are young adults.
