I am becoming awfully confused about the use of the word 'present' please help me out here.
"Interest is also the compensation that a lender receives for giving up the ability to use funds at the present time."
I wrote the above sentence but I don't feel all that comfortable with the expression, 'at the present time'...what I mean to say is 'now' but I would like to use a more formal expression... what could I say?
Top answer
Just say 'now'. There is nothing informal about 'now'. Learners are worse than lawyers at writing twice as much as they need to write.
