at sight

An at sight letter of credit means that payment is made immediately upon presentation of documents.

What does at sight mean? Also, I haven't never seen a letter of credit, so can someone describe it a bit please?

When you see that written request of payment (or on its presentation : it's presented to you in one form or another), you must pay up. htm

Oh, it's just like a credit card bill. I thought it might be like a letter you use when borrowing money from the bank.
