'At night' problem

Ei guys put there i have a question for u guys because my professor told us that we can use sentences with 'in the morning' and 'int the day time' but we cant use the 'in' preposition for the night time.. its should always be 'at night'... We asked why but he said there is something that happens at night that makes it that way.. do u guys have any idea whats the answer??Emotion: sad
