At least one year within the past five years

Hello,

The University's policy stipulates that individuals who have studied in the U.S. for at least one year within the past five years are exempt from having to take the TOEFL/IELTS......

How can I interpet the part in bold? The period referred to is from Nov. 2014- Nov. 2019.


Suppose I studied in the U.S. from Nov.2013-Jun.2015. Nov. 2014 to Jun.2015 is not one year. So I don't qualify for the waive. Am I correct?

That is 22 months. Twenty-two months is more than 12 months, one year. You get the waiver.

Correct. That is nine months.
