at home or home

We generally don't use article at before home.

#1 She was faintly aware when they reached home.

#2 Long after dark we reached home.

But this is not rule of thumb. I have confusion for some sentences, whether I should use "at" or not.

#1 Madam will not be (at) home until eight O'clock.

#2 I am home or I am at home.

#3 When he called me I was (at) home.

#4 I am always (at) home on Sundays.

In #1 I think use of "at" is wrong here but not sure. But in #2, #3 and #4, there should be "at".

Thank you

At is optional in all of your sentences in which you have included it. Leaving it out is more informal and probably also more natural for many people, especially Americans. I know at least one fictional character, Sir Humphrey Appleby, who would definitely have used at in all your examples.
