at day 2 or on day 2

Hello,

At day 2 of the hike, we were all tired.
On day 2 of the hike, we were all tired.

It sees that AT and ON day 2 are used (based on Google search).
Is there a differnce in terms of WHEN "at" or "on" should be used?

Thank you.
