Nowadays in most developed country, advanced medical and healthcare system makes people live longer. The overwhelming group of senior citizen is however giving some problems that need to be dealt in particular ways.

One possible problem is that when people live longer, there will be an increasing number of non-working populations. This results in a greater tax burden on minority working adults. Apart from that, the demand for healthcare facilities will rise. This happened to cater for the aged who are more likely to get ill. For example, it is expected to be a growing number of special cares to these needy such as rehabilitation center. In addition to that, many senior citizens would account for many people to take care of them. Inevitably, the elderly need proper care from the relatives since they are susceptible to physical disability and emotional disturbance.

Alternatively, the effective way to deal with is by rising the age for retirement. Hence, they will be able to support their later life. Therefore the health of this elderly cannot be compromised, a goal that can only be achieved with superb medical advancement. Having said that the aged people need more care, people should be encouraged to have more children. Last but not least, the state can mull over the idea of immigration in order to increase the number of working population.However, question would rise whether this will bring about other social issues as well.

In a nutshell, a large number of older generations create problem to the economy and the society. However, proper adjustment and adaptation is anticipated to take place in the near future.
