Associate to

Someone said this in a video.

In the second to last sentence he says "I associate to that sport more". Is that correct and natural?

I'm a truebred entrepreneur and by my definition that means someone who likes losing. Meaning I think of myself much more as a UFC fighter than a boxer. I think that in boxing when you get a loss its like a Scarlett letter. In the UFC everyone has losses. It's part of the game. I associate to that sport more as an entrepreneur. There isn't an entrepreneur that doesn't have losses.

Thank you

I think I understand what he's trying to get across but I don't think he's said it in a way that makes real sense. That sentence seems unnatural to me.
