Hi everyone,Could you explain to me the difference between assessment and evaluation?I need a (noun)phrase that would summarize what I'm doing when I'm giving reasons for the way in which I propose a student's work be assessed.Perhaps: Justification of the proposed assessment?Thanks!Lenny

I need a (noun)phrase that would summarize what I'm doing when I'm giving reasons for the way in which I propose a student's work be assessed. If you are assessing, say 'assessment'.

Perhaps: Justification of the proposed assessment? Sounds OK to me.

There's obviously some overlap, but here is very broadly how I see it.

assess - determine the quality of

In a teaching context, I think I more often hear assessment.

evaluate - determine the value of
