Hello,

I'm in California, US, and think of "Assemblyman" or "Assemblywoman" or "Assemblyperson" as a political representative on a STATE level, rather than on a national level. On a national level, we often say "Congressman" or "Congresswoman" or "Congressperson" to refer to someone elected to the lower house (House of Representatives) and "Senator" for someone serving in the senate.

Oh, I see. Thank you very much, Nef. That is exactly what I wanted to know.

Thank you again.
