Assembled

I understand that 'made' is an adjective in This is made in China. Can we also say This is assembled (adj) in China or This was assembled (v) in China?

CJ has already told you that 'make' is in passive voice; there is no adjective. The same holds true for 'asemble'.

So then can I say "Where is this assembled?"

Sure, if you are talking about the continuing assembly process for that product. If you are talking only about that specific unit, however, you will have to use past tense, since presumably it is now complete.

Hi,

You might want to also consider this.

'Made' is not exactly the same as 'assembled'.

eg Here in Canada, some cars are assembled from parts made in other countries. Would you consider such a car 'made in Canada'?
