Hi,
What is the meaning of below sentence, could we say like this?

** I am asleep.

Meaning of,

1. I really want some sleep
or
2. I am sleeping.

"I am asleep" means I am in the state of sleep. This is the same as saying "I am sleeping". Whereas, saying "I want some sleep." would mean that you aren't, at the moment, sleeping, however you want to sleep. You feel like sleeping at the moment.
