asking for a slang/idiom

I 'd like to know if there is a similar slang/idiom in English to a Chinese saying "Living or death , poverty or richness is a fate/destiny, determined by the god, something you have little or no control;

I like this , is there any such similar slang in English? please teach me. I am not native English

just want to express one's personal feeling that how long one can live is fixed and how wealth one can own is also fixed, life is fixed
