Asking for a piece of paper or a tissue?

Hi all

I know this is a weird question but in English, what would you say if you want to ask for a piece of paper or a tissue?

Thanks

I'd like a piece of paper (, please).
Can I (please) have a piece of paper?

I seldom use the word tissue, so substitute some kleenex for a piece of paper to get your other answer.

How about a sheet of paper? I saw this a lot.

Hi,

How about a sheet of paper? I saw this a lot.

Pretty informal.

And don't underestimate the considerable importance of the word 'please' in such requests.

Best wishes, Clive
