asking about linking words

After greetings
I have a problem with the linking words such as after, suddenly , immediately, later, as soon as , and before.
How can I use them in a sentence or to connect two sentences or paragraphes? Are there any rules for using them?
thanks alot

Those are not all 'linking words' or conjunctions; some are just adverbs. Nevertheless, they are all used according to their own meanings and functions; there are no overall rules. The best idea would be for you to try composing some sentences and posting them here; then we will check them for you.
