asking a question like this

Could you please tell me when I should use which?

I realise that the above question sounds a bit strange if not incorrect. I don't know how I should phrase it. What do you suggest?

Actually the question was supposed to mean in what situation should I use version A and in what situation should I use version B, assuming that there are two or more sentences. I am sorry that it was a bit misleading. I really haven't got a clue how I should ask a question like that succinctly.
