Ask his clinic what is his fee/are his fees?

Hi all

I am wondering if I should use the plural "fees" here or singular "fee" here? I am talking about a medical specialist whose practice would be quoting only one price for an initial consultation. My knowledge of grammar tells me that if it is only one price only, one should normally use the singular "fee", however, my intuition tells me that the plural "fees" is the appropriate word here.

1. Ask his clinic what is his fee/are his fees?
2. If the fee is/fees are acceptable to you then ask your GP for a referral.

Thank you.

Best wishes
