Some people believe that students should be taught international news as a subject at school. Others feel that this would be a waste of valuable school time. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

The young generation is living in an era of globalization which current situation getting more necessary than the previous decade. That may be the reason why many people insist on including international news in the school curriculum. However, some argue that just a waste of time for learning this subject. This essay will take both views into consideration and come to a plausible conclusion at the end.

To begin, studying global news helps students enhance their social knowledge and practice critical thinking. By researching worldwide culture, politics, and invention, the young will gain more wisdom about what is happening outside their country’s borders and learn to analyze how current events affect their national development. For example, reading Covid pandemic reports of different countries around the globe warn Vietnamese citizens about the danger of this infection and thus, prepares appropriate prevention in advance. Without knowing the occurrence of this disease, the citizens may not set any plan to protect themselves. Therefore, have this subject at school is a creative way of teaching pupils to read for new going and practice critical thinking. This idea is a great benefit for students in the long term period.

On the other hand, some people argue that adding more classes to the education program will be a burden for high school children. The customary timetable requires students to attend school at least 24 hours a week, not counting for their extra classes and exercises at home. Opening one more course requires students to longer time studying and reviewing for exams. This may cause more stress for those young. Instead of having this skill as an obligatory lesson, some parents suggest encouraging children to explore the information themselves in their free time. When coming to reading voluntarily, children may find this more enjoyable than having it as an obligatory subject.

In a nutshell, there is more than one way to inspire children to catch up with the world’s update and train their line of thought by dissecting these pieces of news. The educational program should not carry any more subjects or else it may become too stressful for the learners.
