Ask a question OF me.

"He asked $10,000 of me" sounds correct but "He asked a question of me" does not sound correct.

How about, "He asked a question to me"?

Or, "He asked a question at me"

And also how about, "He asked $10,000 from me"?

In your sentences, He asked a question of me is fine. To is not. At is not. From is not.

As Anon said, there are other ways of expressing these.
