The map illustrate some changes to the waterfront area of Darwin town over a period five years.
Overall, the Darwin waterfront experienced considerable changes during the period shown. The most noticeable differences between the two maps are the disappearance of the industrial area and the expansion of the residential buildings.
As can be seen from the maps, from 2009 to 2014 the school and the convention centre were remained unchanged. Similarly, the lake and the swimming pool were still existed. During the same period, the industrial area was cut down to make ways for swimming pool, trees and academic amenities. The housing area was slightly widened by adding more buildings.
Turning to the other features, we can see that the unchange location of the fishing area in the northern. A large of the sea was narrowed and the harbour was built to the southern, whereas, the new footpath was constructed to divide two different areas.
